Beachy living rooms. There’s really nothing more relaxing than a coastal themed room.
Something about the smell of saltwater in the air, the sun shining down, and the warm sand make me want to drift off to sleep under an oversized straw hat (even though I don’t own one) and forget all my worries.
But, I don’t live on the coast. I’m landlocked. In the hotter-than-you-can-imagine Arizona desert.
At this very moment, in the middle of “fall” it’s 85 degrees outside.
Which might sound perfect to you if you live somewhere where it’s snowing right now, but think of the summer where we have blistering highs of 120 degrees.
It’s. Way. Too. Hot.
But if this was my living room, I know every day would feel like I’m a beach bum. You know, no responsibilities, no stress.
Just takin’ in the sun and relaxin’ the day away.
Relaxing for about 3 seconds anyway. That’s how long I have to myself on any given day when my 2-year-old is with me. Which means if I’m doing the math correctly when he’s 15 I should be able to rest for 2 minutes without some sort of interruption from him.
While I take a moment (but not more than 3) to dream of my future uninterrupted life, imagine yourself in this chic, coastal living room. I think you’re going to like it.

Modern Beachy Living Room
Aerial Beach Print: I’m so intro aerial beach shots these days (really, who isn’t?), but this is one of my favorites. I love the color of the water and the vintage-y feel of the photograph.
Arched Mirror: You can’t use the word chic without having a little bit of metallics in the room. This lovely mirror not only has a great silhouette but adds a bit of sophistication to the room.
Dimond Modern Vase Table Lamp: There’s something about the long neck of this lamp that just looks expensive. The rich navy blue doesn’t hurt either.
Cameron Sofa: When I think Calfornia cool, this is the sofa that comes to mind. It’s neutral, casual and yet still tailored. Pretty much all my dreams come true.
Tabor Pillow: I love how this pillow has a super small scale pattern and adds some texture to the room.
Anguilla Rattan Coffee Table: This rattan coffee table is definitely the show stopper in the room. It’s a splurge, but it effortlessly ties in the entire “beachy chic” vibe.
Blue Dot Minimalista End Table: Unassuming and minimal, this end table let’s the other pieces in the room shine.
Velvet Lumbar Pillow: Velvet might normally seem too heavy to include in a coastal themed living room, but here it’s such a small detail that it doesn’t weigh the room down. In fact, I love the depth it brings to the space.
Grapewood Branch: A simple, natural accent like this grapewood branch does an excellent job of infusing the room with a little more coastal feeling.
Gladiola Silk Arrangement: These silk Gladiolas will look good all year round and help the room feel fresh and sophisticated.
Soto Chair in Lucky Divine: I can’t seem to stay away from at least one mid-century accent in every room. This chair’s base is striking but the fabric ties beautifully in with the beach theme.
Valencia Rug in LightBlue & Turquoise: This rug perfect for the room. It’s affordable, timeless and brings all the colors in the room into one accent.
